Daily Recap #2

Hey Honeys!!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend! I did, honestly, and it was so eventful that I haven't checked in on Blogger in depth. So I'm just going to give an overview of what happened these past couple of days.

Friday: An ordinary day at school and work, but I was so focused on completing assignments for bio and homework for calculus that I basically became a shut-in and entirely focused on them. Especially since I knew that this weekend was going to be so eventful, and I didn't want any academic guilt while out having fun. Which is something I struggle with intensely, to the point where, wherever I am, I start to picture all the things I could be learning about or improving on. I try not to think that way often, and enjoy where I am at. However, sometimes you can't help it, so when I do feel that way when I'm out with friends and family, I have apps with flashcards/questions to answer about the material I'm currently working on, which definitely helps subside those feelings.

Saturday: I spent the first half of my day cleaning the bathroom, doing dishes, and taking care of my sister. This all took about 4 hours, and then I had to get ready for my friend's wedding!!! I got into the shower and quickly blow-dried my hair and put makeup on. It was a pretty low-key wedding, so I didn't wear a dress, but honestly, I should have; the California heat was no joke at 4 o'clock. But the wedding ceremony was so sweet and precious. They kept making jokes about their cats, which was so endearing! The reception took quite a while, but it was so fun; I got to officially meet the bride and my friend's family. The vibes were great, and you could tell that everyone was so happy for the couple. They had been engaged for a year, but together since high school (5 years ago), and my gosh, they were so precious!! I was so happy to take part and be there for them; it was amazing. Congrats to G&D.

Sunday: I spent most of the day at the park with my boyfriend. We did a cat puzzle (that we did not finish), got some sandwiches from a local donut shop (so freaking GOOD), and had a pretty relaxing picnic. Please, if you haven't gone to your local park that's generally safe, please do; it can be so relaxing and honestly was very much needed after the week prior of hardcore studying. Moreover, we decided that next weekend we will be watching Resident Evil or Primetime; we can potentially expect a review. And if you watched either, tell me how they were, please. I'm the type of person who likes to know about a movie, and I don't genuinely care about spoilers.

Monday: Honestly, not much happened. I went to class and headed home soon after to complete some calculus homework in advance of a test on this Friday. Definitely not excited about it, but I think I'm going to do way better than the last one. Also, for this upcoming Friday, I'm supposed to go to my first-ever hockey game later that night with my best friend, who LOVES hockey. So this will be an experience for sure since I'm not much of a sports person and definitely not a hockey fan. Can I let you in on a secret?? I didn't even know we had ice hockey in California! Yikes, I knowww, that's how out of bounds I am on this, but I think I'll have a great time for sure as long as the vibes are up.

Tuesday: Not much, as I'm currently writing this, but here's a picture of a stained pink Fish Blastodisc Mitosis slide from Bio today, at 5x and 10x magnification!! (˶แต” แต• แต”˶) ‹๐Ÿน

Honestly, this is a weekly recap; the next post will be short, promise!

Any recommendations?

I just wanted to come on here and ask if anyone has any makeup recommendations? I’m at that point where all my makeup is running out, and I’m not entirely sure I want to buy the same things I’ve previously bought. So I want to ask for anyone’s highly recommended products for these specific items:

Eyebrow tint/gel: I’ve heard Rare Beauty has a good one, and I just don’t like elf’s wow brow. It’s just a tint really and dries out super fast :/

Setting spray: I’ve used a lot, and I’m hoping to find one that genuinely won't budge. I’m at the point of using hairspray.

Mascara: I just need one that volumizes and isn’t too heavy that my lashes start to droop. I genuinely want it to last all day.

Concealer: I use elf camo and I think my skin is getting more oily, so it breaks and creases terribly. If anyone knows a concealer that works with that, please let me know!!

Skin tint: It’s the same as the concealer. Also if it has sunscreen would be the cherry on top!

Please leave your recommendations; they’d be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, honeys ✨

Daily Recap #1

 Hey Honeys!!

I'm trying to encourage myself to write for this blog consistently. I often start hobbies and then forget or get too lazy to keep up with them. But since I'm on my computer every day for school and work, I think I have a pretty good chance of not losing interest.
Now about my day! I woke up at 7 o'clock today, and that was a bit late. I had like thirty minutes to get myself together before leaving for school this morning. Also, to anybody with little siblings or little children in grade school, why on earth do they have to be up so freaking early!!! My sister wakes up at 6 a.m. for elementary school!! Absolutely preposterous.
Anyways, I get to college an hour before class, for the reason stated, and I finish prepping myself for the day. I fix my mascara and lip combo, then pull out my notes to look them over before biology starts. Today we went over chapter nine about cell communication. Truthfully, I think I get the concept but definitely need to study a bit more about nitric oxide and cGMP signaling. I started to fall asleep there, and everything went in one ear and out the other.
Once the lecture was over, I grabbed lunch before heading to work. I'm an on-campus tutor for English and didn't have many students today. So I spent most of my workday finishing up notes for Bio and quizzing myself on those notes via Gizmo, which I recommend if you're a STEM girly or boy.
Especially if your tactic is memorization, it works really well. Small intermission, sorry! I'm also an embedded tutor for an English class, so I waited till that class started and essentially I became a teacher's aide for 2 hours. I came home around 8 o'clock, took off my makeup, fixed my bag for tomorrow, and now I'm here.
Main takeaways from today: I'm soooo tired of these twelve-hour days and am definitely falling asleep after I post this. But really, I need to focus on time management. For one, I'm almost always late to start the day, and two, I always procrastinate on my notes till the very last minute, which I promise myself I won't do anymore!

Thanks for reading, Anna

๐ŸŽ„❆ Yearning for Christmas ❆ ๐ŸŽ„

I woke up this morning with the overwhelming desire and hope for it to be December. I've always been excited for these autumn months; ever since I was a little girl, I loved the coming of holidays. One after another. I anxiously waited for the weather to cool (in California, that meant 85°F, with wind). The leaves turning into an influx of red, brown, and yellow hues. The influx of allergies, primarily because of the agriculture emerging within my town. My step-father coming home with a cloud of dust from the almond factory he worked at, and my Nana dropping off varieties of green and red grapes from the fields where she worked. That's how I knew autumn was here. School would start, then Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. It never seemed to change.

But of course, as everyone knows, once you age, you lose the same holiday whimsy that you and these months seemed to have had. Not including climate change, which just seems to make the heat last longer, there's a definite change in this season that there used to not be. The colors are different; the excitement is different, and so am I.

I'm not six, and I haven't been for the longest time, despite it feeling like just yesterday, and still being able to relish in the memories and scents that those had of this season. I can still smell the trees, concrete pavements, puddles, Halloween candy, cinnamon lattes, and Christmas trees. They have ingrained themselves into my brain & senses. I can't seem to let go. I want so badly for it all to come back.

And the thing is... they haven't gone away, not literally. But there is a change, and I think a lot of people can agree on that. It's definitely not the same. So when I woke up this morning, I hoped it was Christmas. As a last-ditch effort to grasp on to memories that I don't want to fade. That comfort of the winter holiday and happy cheer. I've realized that it's all I want for these upcoming months: to experience, in that very moment, an inkling of childhood glee and excitement again. That familiarity. Unfortunately, that's not to come, not only because it's September (3 months early), but because I've grown, and I have to realize that. It won't be the same, not ever. Doesn't mean I can't hope for it to or try to recreate it, in the now.
