Hi Honeys!!
It's been a while since I've been online; midterms have been kicking me down, fr. But as of right now, I have some free time, so I'm going to give you guys an update on what's been going on over here. Not much, but at the same time quite a bit.
Update #1 - On school, everything is pretty much the same; I just completed exams for both Biology and Calculus. Hope I did well, but won't know till later this week, or even next week. I did, however, start my sociology class. It's a late-start class that's entirely online; it still has the same amount of content as a regular 18-week class, just in less time. The reason I wanted to do this was that I knew I needed to have time to figure out my intense STEM classes with the overwhelming fear of an essay being due. Which if I'm being honest it has helped, but I do think looking back I could have done this class as a regular class, but I'm still grateful for the time I had without the added stress. Alsoo, I can't wait to delve into the course content. Fun fact about me: I love humanities classes such as psychology and sociology. So I genuinely WILL be tuned in to this class.
Update #2 - On social life, I've actually been up to a bit! First thing and most exciting... I went to a Hockey game!! I had mentioned this in my previous recap. And consensus is.... I enjoyed myself; I truly did. For context, I'm not much of a sports person and definitely don't go to watch sports live. The only times I've ever been to watch sports live were a high school football game (which was so overstimulating, but was the last time I ever went to one) and a soccer game when I was 9 years old. All I remember was that it took so long and it had started getting cold that I started to cry. So I'm not much of a sports fan, and definitely not much of a live sports fan. But I chose to go with my friend and her family to a hockey game, and it was honestly the most fun I've had in a while. I love it especially because we're in a small stadium; despite our seats, we could see perfectly. It was all very air-conditioned, and I brought a jacket just in case, and I did end up wearing it towards the end.
On the atmosphere: it was great; everyone had a good time, and no one was obnoxious, loud, or disrespectful, which is honestly so rare where I live! It was fun; the energy of the crowd was amazing, they were interacting with the players, and overall it seemed like everyone was having a great time (myself included). The hockey itself was relatively easy to understand, but I would get lost at times because the puck was so small. There were a couple of fights between players which were so entertaining, and a player on the opposite team ended up getting kicked out; I think that was the highlight, really. The food was okay but expensive, and most importantly, I saw the Wienerschnitzel Mascot!!! I was so happy; it's a long-standing joke between my best friend and me to speak in a German accent and say wienershnitzelllll at any mention of it. So that was great.
Update #3 - Last update is something that actually hasn't happened yet. But this upcoming Saturday I will be going to Sacramento to meet up with my friend who attends UC Davis!! I'm also doing it for bio credit (Davis is holding a pre-health conference), but it's really just an excuse so I can go see her. I've known my friend since we were in elementary school, and we've lived near each other our whole lives. We were together all the time last school year, but she graduated and transferred to UC Davis, which PERIOD!! She's genuinely the smartest person I've ever met, and I wish the utmost best for her. But I genuinely miss her and can't wait to see her this weekend. She's already planning the day, and I think the most exciting part is seeing her dorm!! She lucked out and managed to get an apartment-style dorm, and I've only seen videos but it looks great so super excited, honestly!!
